Not only did they master almost ideal product to perfection (The Witcher received over 90 prestigious awards all over the world) creating the Enhanced Edition of The Witcher, but also – seeing the potential in the single-player RPG – transferred it into the world of Internet.
We’re talking here of course about The Witcher: Versus, an exciting browser game based on The Witcher licence, created by joined forces of CD Projekt RED studio and one2tribe (company specialising in Internet games).
The Beta version itself was played by over 46 thousand people who fought four million duels! In Versus we play the role of a ruthless Witcher, a powerful Sorceress or a trainer of a cruel Frightener in order to fight duels with other players. The latest child of CD Projekt RED studio and one2tribe made in Flash technology, can be seen at http://versus.thewitcher.com.

We are sure that one of elements that made this game popular is unprecedented graphical setting done using 3D Motion Capture animations. The game, which was initially supposed to be a humble add-on to the website, exceeded boldest expectations of the creators themselves, crossing the frames of a simple Discussion Board fun. It passed the Beta tests successfully, changed its name and is still developing, having many more surprises up its sleeve – soon the player will have totally new attractions waiting for them!
Today we can tell you that: In a couple of weeks an epic clash will shake the world of The Witcher: Versus... The dark clouds gather over the city of Vizima, as the Rebellion is closer and closer at its gates... Will you be ready to face the approaching challenges? Everything depends on us!
That’s how an epic event in the world of Versus starts and here is a handful of information about what awaits the players:
After more and more tense relations between humans and representatives of other races living in Vizima, a bloody uprising outbreaks. The Order of the Flaming Rose sets about defending the city and putting down the rebellion. The conflict transforms into the war for freedom of "non-humans".
You have to decide which side you’re going to take. The first logging after the start of the event will be a crucial moment – then, you will have to choose the faction, you want to join. Since then, next to your avatar there will be an icon representing your affiliation. There will be a new ranking in the game showing the progress of the players and the situation of the fighting sides. Military ranks – each of us will get the chance of working their way up the military ladder.
